The Lake Michigan 36.7 Fleet congratulates John Heaton, new Fleet Captain and Charlie Wurtzebach, new Fleet Treasurer. We would also like to thank Bob Foley for his years of service as outgoing Fleet Captain and Donna Hastings as outgoing Fleet Treasurer.

We look forward to the 2012 racing season.

2012 36.7 Schedule Available

The schedule for the 2012 racing season has been posed. This year the fleet decided and voted on one fleet championship that includes both Boat of the Year (BOY) races and the large regattas that take place in Chicago for buoy racing. The fleet also has a Port to Port Championship that includes a number of the Port to Port and distance races, including the Chicago Race to Mackinac.

36.7 Winter Owners Meeting Material

A new section has been added to the Fleet Resources Area which houses all of the material you will need for the winter owners meting February 10.

36.7 Fleet Winter Owners Meeting Scheduled

The 36.7 Owners Meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 10, this year. More information including an agenda and proposed 2012 racing schedule will be coming shortly.

36.7 End of Season Dinner & Awards

Please mark your calendars for the yearly 36.7 End of Season Dinner & Awards. This years event will be on Friday, November 18 at CYC Belmont Station. Awards will be handed out for the top finishers in the Best on Lake Michigan Championship series and for Most Improved 36.7.

Great Showing by Chicago at the 2011 NAC

After 11 races the three Chicago boats who participated in the 2011 North American Championships ended up finishing in the top 10 with Stingray finishing fourth overall! First Today was this years overall winner and Zingara was the top Canadian boat finishing second overall.

The Leukemia Cup Regatta is such a fanatic event and a great cause hosted by Columbia Yacht Club. The 36.7 section once again had our own section with five 36.7 participating. Soulshine was this years winner and back to back Leukemia Cup Champ.

Congratulations to all of the 36.7 who participated and to all of the crew, family and friends who helped raise funds for this event!

2011 Great Lakes Championships - Verve Cup Results

The 2011 Great Lakes Championship and Verve Cup hosted by Chicago Yacht Club was a success with six races over three days of racing. 12 boats competed in the 2011 Great Lakes Championship. One of Chicago top boats, Tried & True came out on top winning the perpetual Great Lakes trophy.

The top 3 winners are:

Tequila Mockingbird
Stingray
