Local Fleet Addendum to Rule 6.1C. One Design Class Rules for Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac and Port to Port Races over 30 Nautical Miles
Sails carried aboard for the purpose of the Race to Mackinac race for those Beneteau 36.7s competing in the class event (other than those required by the Mac Safety Regulations (MSR)-Monohull Release 1) shall include those described in the Beneteau First 36.7 North American One-Design Class Rules version (February 17,2009). One additional spinnaker may be carried on board in accordance with the description for 3rd spinnaker listed below. ALL Sails must carry an official Beneteau-36.7 Royalty Class Button per rule 6.2.G. A sixth sail may be carried on board so long as it is a spinnaker that complies with the additional spinnaker clause specified as follows:
3rd Spinnaker clause:
For the Chicago Race to Mackinac (Or Local Class Designated Distance Race,) A Beneteau 36.7 may carry one additional Spinnaker on board providing the 3rd spinnaker is over 54gm/m2. This sail must be symmetric, and be no larger then the current National Class rules regarding spinnaker measurements. This sail would not require a button or count towards a boats sail acquisition for the year. Owners will be required to submit a sailmaker’s certification to be kept on file for the sail with the local fleet office.
Racers in the 2009 Race to Mackinac will be required to complete a Crew/Sail Certification form per class rule 3.1. This form is to be submitted to the local fleet secretary on or before Thursday July 16, 2009.
